OCR on the wrong page[cagna]

Hi Sam, just to point out that if you use the new OCR button at Paggena:L'Eneide di Virgilio Marone trasportata in ottava rima napoletana.pdf/267, it works on a different page[1]. But the "regular" Google OCR gadget works on the correct page.

Maybe it's due to the fact that this PDF has been uploaded on Commons in several versions, meaning that there are several versions of the same file. But it's just a conjuncture. --Ruthven (msg) 17:37, 4 aus 2021 (CEST)[rispunne]

Was OCR run on that page before the new version was uploaded? Because it sounds like it was a caching issue: the OCR text is cached for an hour. It seems to be working correctly now, with both engines. I'll look into whether there's anything we can do to avoid this situation when a new version of a PDF is uploaded (because it's likely to be within an hour and so cause issues like this). @Ruthven: It might have been a cached copy of the thumbnail then. Although I'm not sure why it'd be different for Google vs Tesseract, but I guess it's not impossible.
